about me
My name is Laura Bolton, and I am a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), where I received my Master's in Public Health.
For my undergraduate studies, I graduated from North Carolina State University (NCSU) in May 2014 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor's of Social Work. While volunteering at a free clinic during undergraduate, I found my passion for public health and the health care system. I saw the need for community resources for the under-served and the growing state of chronic diseases in our country. During my time at UNCG, I have had the opportunity to hone in and expand my knowledge on these topics through being a graduate assistant for UNCG Health Coaching Programs. Through this role, I have become a certified health coach (CHC), coached clients through an employee wellness program and at a rural primary care practice as well as trained other health professionals to become health coaches. Additionally, health coaching has given me the opportunity to help chronic disease patients become more engaged in their care and work toward better outcomes. |
